Domestic Violence

Susan R. Brown — Broward County, Florida

Board Certified Family Law Specialist*

Domestic violence is a serious and often deadly problem for many people in the United States each year. It is also broadly defined and may include violence, threats, or other forms of abuse and can occur both inside, and outside of your residence. If you are currently being threatened or abused by someone you know—it is vitally important that you contact the police and/or an attorney as soon as possible for your own protection.

Safety and Security First

Some lawyers represent both the abusers and the abused in their practice. I do not. My practice involving domestic violence is limited solely to handling the civil side of these issues. I represent victims of domestic abuse in the Fort Lauderdale and Broward County areas of South Florida and focus my efforts on preserving a client's security first by obtaining a restraining order for their protection.

Whether you are being abused by a spouse, a parent, a domestic partner, a dating interest, or someone who at one time you were intimate with—I can put my experience as a Certified Family Law Specialist* to work towards ensuring your current and future safety. All you have to do is call.
